Queer Prom

Queer Prom is beloved by the Athens LGBTQ+ community because it reclaims an experience that, for many of us, was unsafe, inaccessible, or emotionally painful the first time around. A multi-generational gathering of mentorship and pride, the night is both symbolic and healing. Many older attendees describe it as the prom they never got to have, while younger attendees, many from small towns in surrounding counties, come to experience what queer adulthood should feel like – vibrant, celebratory, and unashamed.
