Pride Ambassador Program
Ambassadors serve as community advocates for Athens Pride and Queer Collective. With one employee and a board of directors, APQC’s small but mighty team relies on community volunteers to carry out our mission: the advancement of equity, affirmation, diversity, and wellness of queer populations in the greater Athens area. In the Ambassador role, you serve as an extension of that mission: spreading awareness of events and programs, volunteering at events, representing APQC at tabling opportunities, and more. Our Ambassadors help us spread awareness of events and programs, volunteer at events, represent APQC at tabling opportunities, and serve as community brand spokespeople. The Ambassador team’s mission is to extend APQC’s mission by increasing overall awareness of events and programs and enhancing organizational capacity for community involvement. As an Ambassador, you will act as a brand ambassador of Athens Pride & Queer Collective in the greater Athens community by reflecting organizational values. Ambassadorship is a 1-year term with an unlimited yearly option to renew, and chair roles are a 2-year term.

REQUIREMENTS

Pride Ambassadors must be a member of or an ally to the LGBTQIA2S+ community and are expected to be respectful of all orientations, identities, and preferences.

Pride Ambassadors must be located in the Athens area to attend APQC events and meetings and to stay actively connected with the local Athens community.

Pride Ambassadors are expected to attend monthly APQC meetings, and excessive absences without communication may result in removal from the program.

Serve as a resource for event attendees by facilitating introductions and conversations to create a welcoming environment for all
